THE SEX CULT MANIFESTO

  1. SEXCULT is a pro-love music and art collective for DJs, dancers, fans, fashion lovers, karaoke singers, bedroom producers, visual artists, and anyone with something real to bring.

2.We began between Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles. Now we are building a meeting point in Hollywood: a place for Brazilian school funk, liminal spaces, heavy-metal karaoke, Lana Del Rey devotion, pop, hip-hop, noise, romance, and sounds nobody has named yet.

We are not here to win Grammys or be awarded and validated in that way ever. We are here to make one—open, sublime, sexy, seductive, nostalgic, beautiful, collaborative and alive music collective and affiliation within one of the most beautiful creative hubs in the world aka. Hollywood. It has yet to see it’s glory days in our opinion and the next wave of Hollywood will far surpass the last. Music will become the heart & soul of its new beginning.

3. The “sex” in SEX CULT means freedom: freedom from shame, from boring rules, from pretending you have to be cool before you are allowed to create. Consent, respect and care are non-negotiable. Love is the engine.

To become a member of the Sex Cult music collective, there’s no experience required just heart and moivation to support and define a new era of art in California and Australia. If you have taste, curiosity, a point of view, or a dream that is bigger than your current skill set, come through. Bring a USB, a sketchbook, a look, a song, an idea for a party, or just the nerve to begin and register today!

4. Hollywood has always had the potential. We want to make space for art to become it’s drive again, we see it happening already! Our love of Hollywood runs deep, and we want to contribute to this by bringing our version of creativity and embracing what Hollywood has always offered us: This exquisite plastic and tacky side to Hollywood & L.A aka. The Star Line tours and celebrity hunting, the Hollywood Hills, and bad tribute acts. Cliches that we want to embrace and cliches that have made Hollywood our muse for many years. We want to bring them back with a vengence, and have fun with them all, because they are so much fun.

Sex Cult literally and figuratively embrace all these cliches, the music is what we serve and love, and Hollywood has always been our muse in some way or another.

5. Sex Cult do not want to become some run in the mill industry exercise, but as a reason for people to meet, move, make things and look after each other within a area of the world where so many great artists reside and this is what makes L.A special in so many ways. It’s rich artistic history and dynasty, charming failures and god-like energy.
